This is a late response but yeah, I know a little about Japanese culture. It's horrifying how high the domestic violence rate is—and those are just REPORTED domestic violence. Who knows how many others have gone unreported. And yeah, the rape culture is definitely a huge problem in Japan. It's all over their media (which I consume) and it's so unnerving when I see shit like Hot Gimmick getting such high praise when it promotes something so horrible.
